SS Helmet. Is this genuine?
Good evening gents,
I have been offered this helmet, no talk of price as of yet but, I would like your opinions on the lid anyway.
Only info I can give at this stage is...
1. Helmet was in a shed corner under a leaking roof for many years.
2. It is an ET64
Regards
Carl

Looks like a round bottom fake to me but wait for other opinions.

Hi Carl,
Looks like a round bottom fake decal to me too. There appears to be pitting under the decal as well, especially under the right hand rune.
Regards, Ned.

Re: SS Helmet. Is this genuine?
Got to agree with them both, fake decal in all probability, strange amount of damage as well, i would say this was a semi relic lid before it was messed about with and the story added

Re: SS Helmet. Is this genuine?
It's not the classic "round bottom fake", that's patterned after an ET pattern. This one, it's just a bad old fake, with a round bottom.

Can't say for sure Paul, I sometimes receive emails from contacts and advertisements in a few different countries in Europe.
