SS M 40 helmet by Qwist, battlefield found

SS M 40 Qwist by shape and decal helmet, found last week by Robocop, unfortunately just a history piece due of the helmet looks like was burned on the fire in the abandoned positions and very heavily rust damaged, also the soil where the helmet found is not a good and contain acid which is not perfect for preserving the steel.

What did you use to clean it? Oxalic acid?

Nothing, the helmet is in the condition as found, all the time after the helmet was found it's kept on the water
