    Default SS M40 Helmet ET68 Lot# 801 battle worn

Here is a very worn M40 with 2/3 of the decal remaining. There is a low velocity bullet ding in the front of the shell that has a corresponding dent in the liner band. That hit was a bell ringer. The name of the soldier and I think field post is written in the liner leather though I have been tortured with inability to read the cursive. The chinstrap appears original to the helmet and is 1940 dated. Enjoy.

Hi, well even though the most important areas of the decal for identification purposes are missing, I think this is a good one as it does have a match up with M40 ET68 801 in the lot number book. That's obviously only a guide and not a certainty, but overall I think this is a good one, although expandable images to see the fine details would be good. Leon.

I agree with Leon - it has the look that is hard to duplicate. most fakes are 'try hards'

It is a huge shell and in hand has a lot of "soul."
