How do you guys like this battle damaged SS helmet and the other one with the steel net? I guess that especially the one with the steel net is trying to represent something it’s not.

Velkommen til forum A really to extreme high percentage of SS items/helmets are fakes. The chicken wire helmet is ridiculous. Many thing wrong with it. It's too tight to the helmet to have any weeds and or sticks put in between helmet and wire. If there ever was put any material there, it would be visible on the helmet. It looks spray painted and neither wire nor helmet have any battle wear to it. How many times would the helmet have been taken off and put on the ground upside down. Hard to tell, but many. This is "combat" helmet never seen combat.

Hmm...maybe the wire shrunk with age...lol

Stupid me. The good old metal contraction
"Hmm...maybe the wire shrunk with age...lol" - Haha, yeah that explain everything
What about the other helmet. The semi-relic - is it also a "keep your hands the hell away" - or you will get burned helmet ?
Datrus - Tak for for din velkomst. Har du været her længe? Jeg oprettede mig for et par uger siden og må sige at jeg syntes det er et fantastisk forum.
Hi,
I would stay clear, something better will come along.
The wire is a round bottom fake on an SE M35 (see the SS decal reference section...)
The relic might have a chance but much better photos of the decal are needed. It looks like it might have had a party decal removed and reissued with a Pocher decal over a factory Q perhaps, but that's all speculation till we see better photos.
No one of the earlier posted SS helmets was any good... How about this battle damaged m42. Does it have a chance?
