Waffen SS M40 ET64

Here's a helmet that came out of an estate buy last year from RI, NY.

A Waffen SS M40 ET64, lot# 783 with the factory finish paint.

It has the correct pre 1940 "ET" style pattern SS decal with some over the years toning which gave it that "golden look", but unfortunately the runes have been defaced I believe by the GI who captured it.

Leather liner appears to be made by Werner zahn and is in great condition.

Liner is the correct M31 steel liner band and in great condition. Split pins and washers are original and tight as they should be!

Cool thing is the twin sister of this helmet is actually on KenB's site, same size and same lot number.

I just borrowed this chinstrap from another helmet. I figure it will stay on this helmet until I find one that matches the interior's wear (which will be a challenge ). But you have to admit, it looks much better.
