If this is true that's pretty crazy! What's the name of the book that this came from?
Double runic and reversed runic helmets are well known, nothing crazy about it and plenty of period photographs to support this.

    Agreed Doug,
Until any period photo's etc show themselves, I just accept the helmet as a good plain example.

Out of curiosity, can anybody cross reference the batch number (ET 2138) ?.

    Cheers

    Gary J.
Gary in M42 SS helmets are in ckl not ET which is what ET switched to. I have seen 1 in an ET marked M42 shell that I havent recorded as from the photos it couldn't be established if it were real or fake. Not saying they dont exist, just saying I havent come across any yet but I have far from seen every SS helmet in existence either.

    Hi Replace,

Thanks for sharing interesting & rare pics. You mentioned the last pic is of soldiers of the handschar division, where was this photo obtained if I may ask? I've seen lots of handschar photos, but don't recall seeing this one.

I have seen more period photos of the Handschar, and other foreign legion SS divisions, wearing the right-sided runic helmets than the expected left sided ones. Left sided runic helmets are rare & double sided runic helmets are even more scarce!

    Hi Samir,

The pictures comes from a Danish ww2 militaria-forum.
I have contacted the guy who put the pictures on the Danish forum.

It turns out that he is a soldier, and right now on his 3 mission to Afghanistan.
I "talked" to him today - he could not remember what book the pictures came from.(3 years since they where posted on Danish forum)
...but he promised that he would give me the name of the book, when he comes home in August.

    Regards
