That would be good! Do you mean a War Merit cross or an Iron Cross.............or something else...........?

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Original, pinback 1st Class 'War Merit Cross' with swords - between
$150 and $200 here, without case.

There are 'early quality', and later zinc types. Lots of repros too...
    Regards,

    Steve.

If it has 1939 on the reverse it should have a suspension loop and sounds like a War Merit Cross with swords 2nd class and not that valuable sadly! about £20 is run of the mill or am I tight?

    Jock is correct !

I overlooked this in the the description - My first thought from the title was British
'Military Cross' ! It is always best to post pictures !

If it has reverse detail and a 'loop' for suspension, it has to be a
War Merit Cross 2nd Class in bronze.............!
    These are very common.
Worth $45 dollars in excellent condition, including it's ribbon.

It sounds like the medal is 2nd class, which has been said earlier
