So how do you tell that it was made by B.H. Mayer?

Unfortunately, as I don't really study these, I had to ask opinions of others that I trust that do.

I had a feeling that due to the hardware and the appearance of the eagle and it's talons that it was likely a Mayer produced piece. I was also pretty confident that it was original. Besides, I bought it from one of our very own members.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Just like Iron crosses, every maker had there own take
on the design. Most noticeably for me is slight differences
in the shape of the claws and the shape of the numbers.
For example,
