2 Eisernes Kreuz 1...originals?

Found 2 EK1's. One is mm 65 and the other is mm L/12. These are all the photos I have at the moment. Thoughts?

You found two fakes.

These are the same fake crosses with different makers marks. Compare the beading, the dates, the hinges, pins and catches. Both crosses are the same except for the makers marks.

I was thinking the same with both looking completely identical except the MM's.

It is interesting though to note that the fakers seem to be paying more attention to the style of makers stampings.

May I ask where you are digging up these pieces, everything you have posted (EK1’s, Fallschirmschützenabzeichen , SS-Dienstauszeichnung, etc) have turned out to be fakes?

Random auction houses. Estate sales. I love hunting for pieces rather than simply buying known originals from a reputable dealer. It requires more work to hunt but its the thrill and excitement of finding that diamond in the rough and also hearing the personal stories behind them. And I get a lot of on the job training in knowledge as well
