You found two fakes.
These are the same fake crosses with different makers marks. Compare the beading, the dates, the hinges, pins and catches. Both crosses are the same except for the makers marks.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I was thinking the same with both looking completely identical except the MM's.

It is interesting though to note that the fakers seem to be paying more attention to the style of makers stampings.
Random auction houses. Estate sales. I love hunting for pieces rather than simply buying known originals from a reputable dealer. It requires more work to hunt but its the thrill and excitement of finding that diamond in the rough and also hearing the personal stories behind them. And I get a lot of on the job training in knowledge as well
I do not buy anything, of course until its confirmed a diamond
