Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting your superb cross.
The Russian hoard crosses surfaced sometime around December of 1999. Apparently the story is that someone in Russia discovered a German Infantry Division's EK1 supply. They were in a foot locker, there is some doubt whether they were found in a bunker or on a train (not sure why there is doubt but I've heard two stories).
Helmut Weitze bought them and them sold them on.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
They are not all sold yet, Weitze stand had a cartoned EKI by this maker last Sunday.
I have to say that that are so impressive.. very very nice ! but they asked 900.-
