You are absolutely right, Nick.
Don - no sign of repair, there is silver frosting over the solder where the ring is attached. Unfortunately, my cheap Nikon isn't the best for taking pictures.

Not a repair Chris. During manufacture the whole of the frame was coated in the rhodium frosting. This was then polished off the frame edges leaving the mirror like end product. The area you highlight is the remnants of the frosting where the polisher couldn't get into between the beading and suspension ring.

I believe it, Roger, it looks perfect. And pictures don't do it justice, I'm sure. These medals look so much better in person than in pictures, especially minty ones.
