Hi Yab, please can you post a close up of the reverse date?
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick, do you mean the back of the Iron cross?
Regards Yab.
Here are some more pics.
regards Yab.
You'll need to take some pics in natural light because the flash is washing out all the features.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Could be a '23', better photographs would help though.

Carl
The other badge missing its pin is the Abzeichen für das Wehrmachtsgefolge - a badge issued to non-uniformed civilians working for organisations in service of the Wehrmacht (the German armed forces) in some way.

Hi, I hope these are a bit better, by daylight.
Regards Yab.
Indeed Yab, these photographs are an improvement. I think that this EKII was made by maker '23', as I had stated earlier. Maker '23' is Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Heereshedarf in der Graveur-und Ziseleurinnung, Berlin. If it is as I believe, a '23', then there should be a tiny bead split visible on the inner corner of the beading, often found over the left hand side of the swastika.
Regards,
Carl
I'm not convinced the dates match a '23'...........
