Re: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse mm109
I have taken a couple of bad nighttime shots to try and compare. I will take some better in daylight hours.
The frame is definitely thinner than your two.

Re: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse mm109
The beading pattern and dates are consistent with a K&Q cross.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse mm109
Yes Stefan,
It's a Klein & Quenzer cross alright, but no worries,
it's still a perfectly good (and IMO, better looking than a '109') wartime EK2.
It's original owner didn't care who made it, but I'm sure he was very proud of it.
Us collectors can sometimes get too hung up on acquiring every variant and maker and can forget what made us want to own an iron cross in the first place. This was certainly the case with me.

Re: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse mm109
Cheers Danny and for everyones help, outstanding as always.
The first cross I purchased last year was supposed to be a K&Q but when I received it was a Schneider, sellers mistake. I didn't really care then and not now but makes up for it in a roundabout way.
Have taken a couple of better shots of my new 65.
PS: Better change the thread title. ;-)
