I see that now too Roger. Was just wondering how something like this could have been okayed by quality control.
Tom
Thanks, Nick!
That's a good question, Tom. As I get different makers in my collection the differences in quality from the best to the worst are amazing. Especially for a highly-regarded award. You do wonder how some of these got out the door.
When they left the factory they will have passed the quality control and been within tolerances. Over time things may shift and cores move around so what we see today might not be what was seen back then.
I don't think the quality control from certain manufacturers was as strict as others, we see a wide range of quality in EKs. Look at the rough old JE Hammer & Sohne (55) crosses and compare to a Godet (21) piece. The difference in quality is like night and day which proves that some standards were set alot higher than others.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Roger
Jeez Rog, you've been on fire lately! Your EK2 collection is quickly swelling with a nice addition here. Congrats!
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig. CE
Thanks for the explanation Adrian.
