It is a low grade copy of the Knight's Crooss. It has incorrect marks for the firm of Steinhauer and Lueck, Ludenschied, Germany. It doess no possess any of the attributes of original St&L Knight's Crosses.

I completely agree with Bob. A very poor fake with no characteristics of a genuine S&L RK.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Far from a genuine S&L, unfortunately, your cross is a well known fake, commonly referred to as 'the New Rounder'. There are plenty of threads about these fakes, just search for 'new rounder'. They are now even making one piece fakes of these fakes.
Sadly the case, too is a modern piece and looks nothing like a typical wartime case.
I wish I could have given you better news.
Regards - Danny
that's ok...I learn something new everyday...just got my cash back...gentleman was surprised by the news...or hes a really good actor....wish it was real...still don't have one
Hi and welcome to the Forum. This is a Knights Cross - 'Ritterkreuz'.
An original, cased cross like this should sell for about $8,000 or
thereabouts. I'd have wanted to know if it were original or not
BEFORE laying out that amount of cash.........
Regards,
Steve.
