51 is not an authentic maker of the Iron Cross 1st class.

No to protect the local people at all.
They are quite strong against anything that might be linked with Nazi.
It is true that you can find some local produced copies of EK.
But from my point of view, these low end copies are just shit.
I hate all kinds of the fakes which cheat the money made through hard work.
Dear William,
Yes you are right that 51 is not an authentic maker of EK I.
But I did not know this before this March.
Anyway, I got one J.H. Werner EK I 1914 from the same seller at the same time, with reasonable price.
Next time when I visit Stuttgart second hand market, I will visit the guy again.
Haha
We have to learn through the collecting.
I am really enjoying my growing group of EK collections.
Hehe
Thanks again for your information!

Dear Adrian,
I have a question.
I have read your thread about the Ek's structure.
There is something called as "hump" which locates at the joint between ring and frame.
I have one EK II 1939 maker mark 100, which I think might have the "hump"
Is it true that all 100 marked EK II will have the "hump"?
Many thanks in advance!
Mit freundlichen Greussen,
Wolfgang
All EK2's from maker '100' - Wachtler and Lange will have the hump on the top edge of the frame for attaching the suspension ring to.
There are a few other makers who made EK2s with the hump, some more pronounced than others:
1 - Deschler
2 - Juncker
3 - Deumer
4 - Steinhauer & Luck
7 - Meybauer
22 - Boerger & Co
40 - Berg & Nolte
100 - Wachtler &Lange
122 - JJ Stahl
L/54 - Schauerte & Hohfeld
L/56 - Frunke & Brunninghaus
There are a few other EK2's which also have the same feature but aren't on the above makers list and there is speculation on who produced them, the 'Odd Date', 'Round 3s' and the Schinkel B crosses.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Dear Adrian,
Many thanks for your information!
I will check all my EK II to learn more about the "hump".
Have a nice day!
Best regards and all the best,
Wolfgang
