EK Spange?
When I was searching the net for medals I found this spange. The person who sells this says it is a spange for en EK (14-18) when this person also received an EK during the second world war. When I searched the web for more information I found an other example of this spagne but it said it was a part of the 1957 denazified EK.
Do anyone knows which of these explanations is correct (or none of them)?

Re: EK Spange?
Hi, it must be a 1957 one, its not WW1 or WW2

All of the above is more or less correct. The spange you show is the 1957 version of the 1939 EK spange which was awarded to soldiers who earned the EK during World War 1.
So the timeline is:
1914/18 - earn the EK.
1939/45 - earn the EK again but awarded a TR spange as opposed to an TR EK.
1957 - the swastika is banned after the war but the 1957 version of combat awards are produced so the above would replace the TR spange and be worn with the 1914/18 EK.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: EK Spange?
Adrian is correct with the above info about this type of spange.
There are a lot of the '57 type awards around these days,
so I'm not convinced that this is an 'offical' award.....!
