EK1 with L17 MM - is it a good one?

I have been offered this EK1. I am a little concerned by the number placement in the date. The pin is maked L017? Hermann Wernstein. Any thought guys?

I will get around to posting some pics of my start to collecting - all thanks to you. I bumped into a customer yesterday who is moving and wants to find good homes for his collection. Some unissued EK2 in packets, helmets and an SA dagger amongst a ton of other stuff. Pics will follow.

Just look at the amount of casting crap betwen the numbers of the date...thats if the skinny date wasn't enough to raise some suspicion.
