Hello all,
thinking of getting my first ek1 to go with the few ek2 i have.
Upon my search i have found this ek1 marked 65.
Is it authentic or a reproduction?
Many thanks.
Daniel

Fake
Compare to my marked 65
Cased Eisernes Kreuz 1st Klasse.
This doesn't look like a real KuQ. Here is mine for comparison: https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/1939-...review-244537/
ouch. poor all the way around. There are some important threads composed by some members that are outstanding for reference:
Adrian wrote this kickass thread:
Eisernes Kreuz 2nd Klasse terminology.
Woolgar put together this awesome, awesome (yes two awesomes!) thread:
https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/1939-...ctures-243018/
These 2 particular threads are saved in my EK's bookmarks and are on top of the order.
Take the time to pick apart these threads. By studying these you will see right off the bat where the EK1 you posted doesn't pass. Hope this helps you in your search.
Edit and correction: ADRIAN posted the pictures of the EK manufacturing process. Needed to correct that for the record.

Daniel,
There are many threads on K&Q EK I's, you only need to use the search function and do a little studying. You will quickly see the differences between an original and the one you have posted.
Good luck in your search for an original,
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Well, what is wrong with it then? I have an untrained eye on this field here...
