I bought it. It was a really nice guy selling it and he said that I could return it if I wasn't happy with it.
So I'll be able to take a close look at it and return it if it turns out be bad!
As far as I know, 108 did NOT make EK2's...
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I got it today. It's no doubt about the cross, it's original. But maybe the ring have been changed to a postwar marked one? Or why would the ring be "cut"?
About the mark. It looks like 108. It could also be 80, but marked upside down.
Hope someone of you can make it out.
Could it be '800' perhaps? The fact the ring is broken is a good indicator of a possible replacement ribbon ring. Imperial EK2s were marked '800' if they were made of that grade of silver so it may have been replaced by one of these.

No, it's not marked "800". It's definitely mark "1"-something. Could it be a badly stamped 103, 106 or 109?
The cross, as you thought a "Fritz Zimmermann", isn't that a not so often seen maker?
Anton
Looks a nice cross! can you get a closer shot of the number?

Did "108" make imperial EK2s?
