    Default EK2 Authenticity?

Hey guys, I'm just starting out collecting so I'm not too sure on the authenticity of my Iron Cross. As far as I've researched, everything leads me to believe that it's authentic but I would like a second opinion.

    What do you think?

As a note, the ring does not have a maker mark but the paper bag says Hermann Wernstein.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Your cross looks like an original Rudolf Souval. Have a look here and compare yours with the features shown to see if they all check out.
Can you post a shot of the reverse of the packet please and perhaps the makers stamp upon it?

There is no maker's stamp/mark on the ring, if that's what you mean?

But here are pictures of the back of the bag. I couldn't get good enough ones the first time which is why I didn't post any in the first place. Hopefully these are ok.

Thank you for those, the packet stamp was what I meant.
There is some doubt whether Wernstien made EKs at all. I'm not overly keen on the packet but not having seen many like this I can't say if this is good or not. Hopefully someone who knows a bit more about them can give their thoughts on it too.

As long as the Iron Cross is authentic, that's what really counts to me!

    Thank you for your help.

It certainly looks like it and if it checks out with the features on the link I posted then you have no worries.

As far as I can tell it does.

I hadn't even noticed that the ring wasn't connected to the back until you pointed me to that!
