i have had many happy times in idar oberstein ,lots of good times with the locals ,, i never had the first idea that EK were made there ,its a very big mining area ,, next time im around there i will have to see what i can find cheers ian

i was working for the US army at baumholder just down the road a bit ,,idar oberstein is a beutfull town in a deap gorge
there are huge bund barracks on the south side of the gorge looking down on the town and a loverly very old church cut into the side of the gorge above the town it is a beutifull town ,quite large for the area lots of jewlers and presues metal shops ,as you would imagine , there are gold ,silver ,lead mines all over around the town cheers ian
baumholder is the home of the US 1st armoured div ,the old iron sides
