Yep, my other half was born in Australia and still retains her nationality and she keeps turning up.

Not independence mate, 1901 was the year the six separate colonies joined together to form the Commonwealth of Australia, that way we could have a united defence force, economy etc..prior to that each colony had it's own defence force economy etc.. Queen Elizabeth actually became officially Queen of Australia in 1973, prior to that she was our Queen but her title was still Queen of England. Sorry to take over your thread Nick! Adrian, your missus is an Aussie, I feel your pain mate, so's mine! lol
