    I like the ribbon and button but not to sure about the cross on it.

    It could be off an EK pin and the owner has cleverly attached it to the button

    I don't think the EK miniature was a former stickpin affixed by the wearer: Ribbon bows with attached miniature decorations were commercially available in the period.

    I don't specifically recall having seen a wartime 1939 EK 2 ribbon bow with a miniature cross, but I have seen this style with 1914 EK 2s, 1914/18 Honor Crosses etc.

    Actually, this specific manufacturer definitely offered a 1939 EK 2 ribbon bow/miniature combination for the 1957 version of the decoration (see below page from a post-war catalog from the Sedlatzek company featuring the 1957er decorations), so it is perfectly plausible that they had already manufactured this style in the Third Reich period:
