picked this up today, i spotted it being used to hold not an ek but some ground dug buttons. So i thought i should save this from becoming totally wrecked and for a quid it was well worth it!

Absolute bargain at that price Rory.
Never seen one without the maker mark on the back for sale however, unmarked packets are more rare I guess or are they as common ?
thanks Daniel im not too sure, to be honest this is my first packet. But im sure the other guys will know
Hi Rory,
Unfortunately, I believe that this is a well known fake packet, so I'm glad you didn't pay much for it.
As far as I know, the seam should be on the right hand side of the reverse, and the 1939 date font is incorrect.
But since packets are not my area, just to be on the safe side, don't destroy it until you get some more opinions!
Regards - Danny
Cheers Danny, it had me fooled i didnt doubt it at all just didnt think these would be faked, they arent that valuable as origionals that ive seen
Anything and everything gets faked Rory. It beggars belief sometimes! !

Danny is correct. It is a well known fake style which can be found marked or unmarked.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
THESE will all be fake then.
