I was just curious and thought I'll ask a silly questions. I see that the 1st picture of EK 2 has a "branch with three leafs" above the 1939 while the other EK 2s have the swastika. I first thought it was a WW I? But if it is WW I then, the year should not be 1939. I have not seen that before. What is special about this medal?

1957 issue. These were made for Veterans of WW2 to wear in public.

See...now Me...I would have picked the 1st Cross.....minty is nice, but the patina in the beaded frame of the 1st piece gave it great character(in My opinion, anyway...lol)
