Help with Eisernes Kreuz maker "25".

Hello everyone,

I believe the ring on this Iron Cross is marked "25". The Forums list of manufacturers states:

25 Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Graveur-Gold-und Silberschmiede-Innungen Hanau

Can any Forum member explain to me exactly what this means?

Hi Malcolm,
Literally translated it means 'Working group of the engraver gold and silver forging guilds'. Very simply put it means makers '23', '24' and '25' guilds of craftsmen/women who assembled EKs under the PKZ numbers above as opposed to a specific firm who made the crosses under their own makers number.
