the cream of the crop Danny! if theres a waiting list for that Marked Katz & Deyhle + packet can i go on top of it please
Many, many thanks to you all for all of your kind words.
I really do appreciate them all.
@ Spunkmaja / Jonas:Danny, what are those two LDO marked boxes on the right side of the table?
You have a good eye, well spotted!
Sadly, they are not really anything of interest, just two repro RK cases that I converted to house and protect the 1870 EK2's. They would look a lot better if they didn't have the LDO logo on the lid, but at only $14.95 each, I cannot really complain!
@lubus12:Very nice collection. Here, it sems to be the Versailles castle. In 1870, of course.
Yes, it is a period print from 'The Illustrated London News' dated October 15th, 1870 and captioned "The war. The Crown Prince of Prussia distributing the decoration of the Iron Cross at Versailles." (it was a cheap pick up on ebay).
Interestingly, the reverse of the page has an eyewitness account describing the scene.

Believe me, you are not the first (or indeed second!) to ask me that!!
In my relatively short period of collecting EK's (approx. seven years), I have only seen five or six marked '60's for sale, and I have been incredibly lucky to have had two of those. (the other is long gone to a good friend).
Thanks again everyone.
Best regards - Danny
