    Congrats on your first EKs!

Do you have solid proof that the relic EK1 came from Stalingrad? If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say: "This came from Stalingrad!" (I heard this SOOOOOOO many times at the last militaria show I went to...), I'd have a hell of a lot of dollars!

Congratulations on your first EKs! A good Meybauer EK2 and a relic from Stalingrad that I can't identify. Any pin or screwback remains on the back?

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Thanks everyone!

This is how the back of the EK1 looks:

BTW here comes a question from a rookie: How can the EK1 actually be identified as a EK1? I can't tell them apart and the relic is in such bad condition I wonder if anyone can? I have no idea but I do trust the seller who is a really nice guy with alot of knowledge in the field.

Look at your EK2, it has a ribbon and the rings by which to suspend it. The EK1 has a pin back as you can see by the remains of the hinge. EK1s also came with a screw back attachment.
The EK2 was worn as a ribbon only on a ribbonbar or through the tunic button hole or the EK2 and medal were court mounted for formal wear. The EK1 was worn on the left breast.
