Hi G43,
The maker isn't rare (S&L), but the double stamping of the PKZ no.4 and the LDO no. L/16 are fairly rare and desirable. I'm no expert on these, but I think Nick (Woolgar) has a nice example in his collection and will be able to give you more info if required. The case is a nice bonus too.
Regards, Ned.

Ned is correct. The maker is arguably the most common one out there. The rarity lies within the double stamped makers marks, their PKZ number 4 and the LDO mark L/16.
Double stamped crosses do crop up from time to time but I wouldn't say they're massively more valuable than a regular cross. I personally wouldn't pay anymore for a double mark but for those who like the anomaly, they might. It's an individual call.
I'll move it to the EK forum as well.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

My double stamped S&L has the L/16 stamp under the catch
