Welcome to the forum, however you are completely wrong. Please refer to my answer given earlier. This is a "Ubergrosse" or "oversized" Iron cross 2nd class.

The RK has a different ring as already pointed out and is a different size.

    Cheers, Ade.
sorry to bring this up again

a different possibility these were also yused for converting
it is know that some of the ek2classe were converted to knights crosses [this was don on the field and absolutly not factory made]detlev had some for sale 2 months ago

EKII's were sometimes used to make RK's in the field this is not unknown.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Dear Wolfman,
I don't know how to tell you to get to my first posting, but if you can figure out how to do THAT, then you will realize that what I said in my posting was pure unadulterated, without question FICTION! When other people on this site said in replies to a posting about Hitler's gun in a museum worth millions of dollars, there were jokes made about in, including someone putting a picture of apink plastiC toy pistol on the site.
I was in a jovial mood, and just wanted to add a little more humor to what was already posted.
I apologize for not getting my picture down loaded properly on my first humorous posting and in the correct forum this time. I am new to this sight and being completly computer illiterate, I am still trying to figure out how all of the bells and whistles work when logging in properly and posting things properly.
In my first posting, the one that didn't include the picture, it said :
Hitler wanted to emulate the ivory hand grips of General Patton, and had a piece of ivory inlaid in the handle of his luger. THAT WAS JUST A LIE, a falsehood as it were. That was just my fairly tale. SOOOO, I put a piece of masking tape I had printed A. Hitler on and stuck in the the Luger. Then I said that I was in his bunker room when Hitler shot himself, saying "...that AFTER, (NOTE THE WORD AFTER), Hitler shot himself, he handed me his Luger and told me to put ths incident on THIS WEB SITE.
So again, don't believe everything you read, and I'm sorry my humor
wasn't realized with the picture. I also said on my first posting that Hitler wanted to be "The Big Gun", and wanted his Luger to shoot .50
caliber bullets, but he couldn't figure out how to do it, that's why I showed the .50 Caliber shell beside the Luger.
I hope I've explained the situation to you satisfactorly to you.

    Dear Wolfman,
I know, I know, but I am new, 3-days new to this web site, and am also computer ignorant, and am having a very difficult time trying to navigate it. I might be able to learn in a few more years, if I live that long.
Where in UK do you live? I'm going to be visiting there, hopefully in the not to distant future, and will be heading up to Norwich and then to the old WWII 93rd Bomb Group B-24 base Hardwick #104, for a visit there. I owe you dinner, and will promise that if you are not to far off the beaten path. Get back to me.
    Thanks,
    Kent
email: dejacque04@bendbroadband.com (It's a whole lot easier if you would email me directly). I can send you some pictures that are not of interest to most people on this War Relics site. I'm a B-24 Bomber enthusiast.
PS. Are you a WWII memorabilia collector, if so do you specialize in any
    one thing in particular?
