Re: Real Knights Cross presentation boxes and ribbons?
I'm sorry to say that I don't have any confidence in any of the items shown.
I believe the red case to be an artificially aged fantasy item - while the eagle looks to be the style used on Ritterkreuz documents, there is no way that this was made for an original Grosskreuz. Considering that the Grosskreuz was one of the highest awards known, it is inconceivable that it would ever be housed in such a poorly made and cheap looking case.

Re: Real Knights Cross presentation boxes and ribbons?
I think the eagle is also a type used on AH stationery.
No good anyway, IMO.........

Re: Real Knights Cross presentation boxes and ribbons?
Thanks for the further photos , as has already been pointed out the Eagle is incorrect for the Grosskreuz case . The dimensions of the Grosskreuz were 48.5mm x 48.6mm making far bigger than an RK and too big to fit inside the case shown here !!

Re: Real Ritterkreuz presentation boxes and ribbons?
The red case bears no resemblence to any RK presentation case I have seen or have in my reference material. Certainly it is the wrong shape for a start, the quality is poor and as for being a Grand Cross case...nope.

Re: Real Ritterkreuz presentation boxes and ribbons?
The cut out for the cross in the red case look's uneven and the cut out for the top arm is smaller than the cut out's for the other arms. Or am i just seeing things?
Cheers

Re: Real Ritterkreuz presentation boxes and ribbons?
it has the correct hinge, it has the correct catch, it has the correct inside material. I think it may be a fake on a second evaluation.

Re: Real Ritterkreuz presentation boxes and ribbons?
Sorry may have been a bit hasty because of the possible real item on my first evaluation.

Sorry may have been a bit hasty because of the possible real item on my first evaluation.
Many people have been caught out over the years by thinking they have come across a very rare item when in fact they have been done ,one of the fakers favourite tactics , it's always best to take a step back and evaluate the item itself and not rush in fuelled by exitement at getting the bargain of the century !!
