Hi
Better pictures are needed.
Thanks
Cameron
Yes, we need to see much better pics, front, back, dates, beading etc.
I'm not liking the rough finishing to the top of the frame either side of the suspension loop.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Both the Knights Cross itself, and the Oakleaves attached to it are definitely postwar Souval pieces. The shape and size of the eye for the suspension loop is very distinctive as is the 800 mark (Souval typically used an incused rather than stamped 800). The very light coloured base metal for the centre is also typical of Souval as is the generally mediocre quality of the finishing to the edges of the frame stamping.
Hello there,
I would like to see the oakleaves if you can get additional photos please.
William Kramer
Here is another set of Souval Oakleaves. These were offered in two styles, hollow stamped with an 800 mark on the loop, and solid.
The outline countour of the edges of the leaves are different for each known maker. Souval's postwar copies are also quite distinctive.
