    Hi guys!

I'm pretty newbie in this awesome 'world', so I need a little help this time. I decided to start the collection buying this cross and I compared with others but I'm not sure if it's legit or not, who's the maker, etc... I found it in a Ecsesi -or something like that- Market (Hungary). What's is the value, aprox?

    Can you help me?

    Thanks a lot

Hi Shadow and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately it is bad news on your cross, it is a one piece reproduction of a Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub (Knights Cross with Oakleaves). The base metal also looks to be quite soft.

Spend a bit of time looking through the forum and the multitude of original EKs and if you have any questions, please ask.

As far as value goes it's pretty worthless, I hope you didn't pay too much.......

    Hi!

Thanks for your quick reply. Very appreciated.

So, what should I do with it now? Have any value (for save, or not).

The best thing to do would be to keep it as a reminder of your one and only mistake - I hope - or if you know anyone who does re-enacting, they might want to use it.

Genuine example of these awards cost many thousands of $/£/€.

No worries but as a newcomer to the hobby I suggest you post any potential purchases before spending any money.

Shadow if this was real it would cost 20,000 Euros so the price is your first clue. This is a very poor copy as Adrian has already pointed out !!

Might i suggest that whilst you are learning and starting in the hobby don't jump in trying to buy very high end / high price items as that could cost you some serious money , unless you have money to burn of course.
