Article about: On this page, they're selling an Knight's cross ribbon for \\$1000. I HAVE ONE!! Are they really worth that much? (just the ribbon) German Iron Cross

    Thank you for posting, it's a genuine ribbon but looks like an EK2 ribbon to me, what's the width?

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Looks to be 31 mm, exactly.

    In that case it is an EK2 ribbon. Do you see the point? You've gone from a $1000 ribbon to a $10 one because we've seen a photo of your actual item.

    Ok thanks. Correct me if i'm wrong..the difference between the 1st and 2nd class is, the 1st class has a screw or pin back, and the 2nd class has a loop. The 1st class is higher also. Is this correct?

    That is correct. The second class was awarded as in the photo above but thereafter worn just as a ribbon from the buttonhole or as a ribbonbar above the left breast pocket. The first class was worn on the left breast pocket and attached by a pin or screwback device. The Ritterkreuz was worn at the throat and suspended by a ribbon around the neck.
    You needed the lower class before you could be awarded the higher class.

    I should've mentioned earlier, a Ritterkreuz ribbon should measure 45mm wide which is why we know the ribbon above is for an EK2.

    And Yes an original Ritterkreuz ribbon can sell for $1000.
