Schinkel Form Eisernes Kreuz 2 klasse
Gentlemen,
I was at a militaria fair today and saw a dealer who is a non -TR specialist who normally deals only in British medals. He had one tray of Third Reich medals, which contained two EK 2's side by side priced exactly the same. One of them had a slightly smaller frame, about two mm smaller on the side arm. I am no expert, but I believe this to be a Schinkel as it was similar in size to a WW 1 medal.
Question: what should I be looking out for to decide whether it is an obvious fake, or a definate real deal. I will be seeing him again at the next militaria fair and intend to buy it. He also gives a money back guarantee so I should be OK come what may.

Hi, if it was a genuine Schinkel I doubt it is still available, without pictures there's no way of telling if it was a fake, or that you have missed out on a bargain! Leon.

it was the same price as a regular EKII, so knowing my luck, I probably did miss out on an absolute bargain
