Folks what do you make of this one? I think it is ok but the hinge pin looks a wee bit strange to me. No maker mark
Cheers

Agreed, the pin looks kind of 'bevelled' on one side. I've seen the oddly pinned hinge before but the actual pin itself looks weird, maybe it's the angle of the image?
Andy the pin block looks a bit Flochesque. See what Fabri says

The more I look at this the more suspicious I get. The arms of the hakenkreuz look to be different widths and the 12 o'clock arm looks to be angled slightly outwards? maybe its the photo? Also the '1939' seems very soft in detail.
I look forward to more expert opinion.
Look at the numbers, especially the '1'. Looks very odd to me. I have seen nothing like it before.
Personally, I would walk away from this one.
Thanks Guys!!
I had a feeling that there was something wrong but these really are (another) minefield. This one was reasonably priced and proves our old saying that if it looks to good to be true, it usually is!!!

Hello guys
I had not time to use internet in lat days, pics are little but I think to see a nice and original unmarked L/56.
Can you make a good pic of date ?
I agree with Fabri, comparing the obverse to my L/56 EK2 I can see similarities in the beading and the date. A better pic of the obverse will be very helpful.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Here is the reverse of my L/56 to compare and I agree it looks ok seeing them together. Andys example must just have a bit of damage to the hinge block
