Death/missing place: Feldlazarett Elista
Died twenty minutes past the third hour of September 21 at the Feldlazarett in Elista. The cause of death is not listed, only that he is deceased.
Elista is in the capital of the Kalmückensteppe. It is about 270km directly south of Stalingrad.
There is no Volksbund entry for Heinrich Gottheil.

A really interesting Wehrpaß which shows not all deaths were combat related.
I may be wrong but to me his cause of death looks like Am Diphterie gestorben (Died of diphtheria). For dysentery I would expect to see Dysenterie or Ruhr.
I think it should be spelt Diphtherie*

I was starting to type up a post saying he died of diptheria (Diphtherie) not dysentery (Ruhr) but when I hit reply it jumped to the bottom and I see Will beat me to it.
Due to the date and location of his death, he was likely attached to 16th motorized division at the time.
