I picked this one up from a German auction site. Irritatingly, there was a pair, both Soldbuch and Wehrpass to the same guy and they were separated and sold individually.

On the good side, the seller provided some photocopies of the Soldbuch along with it which shone a whole new and interesting light on it.

Anyway, here he is A "Busted" MP

After a very brief spell with Kraftfahr Ersatz Kompanie 69, he transfers to Verkehrs-Regelungs Bataillon 752. These traffic control battalions were part of the military police structure and were later converted into regular MP units. From there on all his service is with the Feldgendarmerie.

He saw a fair bit of service on both Western and Eastern Fronts.

So far, a nice enought Wehrpass and I was glad to get one to someone who was in a Verkehrs-Regelungs Bat., as I didn't have one of these. But heres where it gets even better.

From the Soldbuch I didn't get, here is his hospitalisation record.

Two entries revealing that he had caught VD ( code 13 -considered a self inflicted illness). Probably decided to "sample the goods" when rousting some grunts out of a Bordello !

But more serious, especially for an MP, a code 36 "feigning illness".

Looks like after all his Front service he'd had enough by then !! Another interesting piece of history !
