Does it say where each Urlaub was made out?
Does it say where each Urlaub was made out?
I thought his Urlaubs where for Rügenwalde, but does it say wheere in the field it was made out?
No

Can one identify location by the date and the unit it was made out?
The locations where the leaves where granted in the field are not identifiable by the entries, no. As for the sequence of units:
Leave # 1 was granted on 11 Dec. 39; the unit's seal is too badly faded to be legible.
Leave # 2 was granted on 31 May 40; one would have to research the Feldpost-No. to identify the unit.
Leave # 3 was granted on 6 July 40 by the Staff Company of the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler
Since the LAH was his initial unit, entries # 1 and 2 would also have been issued by the LAH.
Leave # 4 was granted on 8 Dec. 40 by the Westland Regiment
(All the entries are signed by his company commanders at the relative time.)
A chronology starts to form:
- Before his call-up for military service, he was a member of the Allgemeine SS , more precisely the 8th Sturm of the 39th Standarte (see his marriage permit paperwork)
- He was called up for military service on 15 August 1939 (see his letter to the RuSHA)
- He initially served with the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler at least until the summer of 1940 (see replacement unit and leave entries)
- While still with the Leibstandarte, he was wounded by a gunshot wound to his left upper arm and was treated in two military hospitals from 11 June 1940 through 4 July 1940 (see hospital entries)
- He was then granted recovery leave by the LAH from 6 July 1940 through 21 July 1940 (see leave entry # 3)
- At some time after that but still in 1940, he was transferred to Westland. (see field unit entries and leave entry # 4)
- At some time after that, he wound up at the Hohenlychen medical facility. He was definitely there by May 1942 and still there in September 1942. (see replacement unit entries and marriage permit paperwork)
- At some point after that, he was transferred to the Medical Replacement Battalion at Stettin. (see replacement unit entries)
- At some point after that, he was transferred to the Waffen-SS Carrier Pigeon Unit at Bernau near Berlin. (see replacement and field unit entries)

Amazing! are also doing professional research work? real good detail.
From his other Urlaubs he was Hohenlychen until December 1943 or start of 1944, then moved as you mentioned to Waffen-SS Carrier Pigeon Unit at Bernau near Berlin. Wonder if his stay is such units was due to recovering from his wounds or an actual new posting...
I can help with the Feldpost number. Let me know what it is.
Cheers, Ade.
Morning Ade.
Looks like 111500 (2nd Urlaub)
Looking at the Urlaubs, 3.rd one, is that short for Berlin to Rügenwalde? and the 1st, can not make out the written word before Grund; last the same for 4th, before Arbeitsurlaub...
Thanks.
or maybe 11150 D ? and not 111500?
