"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Very nice. I have a Wehrpass to a Knights Cross winner of LG-1 and was the commander of II Gruppe at the time this man was in the Geschwader, so I have a soft spot for the unit.
Schröder was killed while flying Ju-88A-4 L1+CS (Werk Nr 550404). All the crew were reported MIA.
Beobachter: Unteroffizier Josef Hardt
Bordfunker: Unteroffizier Heinz Friedrich
Bordschütze: Unteroffizier Gottfried Spalt
They were shot down by flak.
Do you know when the supposed ship sinking took place? I have the 2 volume unit history of LG-1 by Peter Taghon so can check up on the details for you.
You will be interested to know that the signature for the two award entries is that of Karl Peters who won the DKiG & Knights Cross

I THANK YOU! This is epic information I understand the British destroyer was sunk in the Med November 43 no exact date. I also have his M-38 side cap he rarely wore it. I knew Karl Peters made the 2 award enteries.

The signature on page 23 if you are unaware of it looks to be that of Erich Baumgartl who won the Ehrenpokal, DKiG & RK. He won them with 3./KG-55 which was then renamed 9./LG-1 in mid 1943.

That I didn't know Thanks again. Since we are on the subject what would this soldbuch be worth? I have only 2 at the moment and do not know their value?
-
I would say that it is worth around $350. The lack of a photo isn't such a problem as it never had one but it is a replacement Soldbuch and he only served in a front line unit for 6 months, plus the Soldbuch isn't packed with entries. The RK signatures help push the price up a little.
With regards to the destroyer, there is no mention of LG-1 sinking a destroyer in November 1943. These are the ships lost in November 1943. The only destroyer sunk was HMS Dulverton and she was hit by a glider bomb launched from KG-100 aircraft...
