The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Part of 389 ID , destroyed at Stalingrad , reformed and then fought in Russia and Kurland for the remainder of the war ,Unfortunately my neck won't allow me to read the info on your photos !
