Hi Chaps, I recently bought this late war issue Fuhrerschein to a Friedrich Nachtmann & I'm trying find out where his unit served. Are the numbers shown 'Feldpost' numbers?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Cheers,
Richard.

Certainly not Feldpost-Numbers, that's for sure. These numbers appear to be some kind of issue/registration numbers for the document and any additional qualification entries therein.
(The first entry of 24 August 1944 is the Class 2+3 licence for vehicles with conventional combustion engines, the second one certifies the additional qualification for the driving and maintenance of vehicles powered by wood-gas generators.)
The abbreviation "Schirrm". means "Schirrmeister", a maintenance sergeant in charge of a motor pool.
Hi, thanks for the info, cheers, Richard.
Either he served in, &/or was trained by, Kf.Ausb.Abt 4 which was a transport replacement unit based in Wehrkreis IV.

These Licenses are Nice, Esp because they can be had for little money. normally providing Photo and a Little information on the Holder. Good to see another Gas, and wood type licence
