    Default Wehrpass Bernard Feldmann

    Hi there,

I am trying to translate a few things from this Wehrpass. If some things are not correct, please tell me.
Please, feel free to add as much information as possible.

It is the Wehrpass from soldier Bernhard Feldmann.
He's born in 1924 and has the EK II.

    He first became a 'Luftwaffen-Helfer'.
At the end of 1942 they sent him to the east after a military education of 2 months.
They give him extra training with the K98 and MG34.

    In 1.11.1943 he becomes Gefreiter.

In 17.02.1944 he was shot in the chest at the northern front of Narwa.
Until then he was part of the Grenadier Regiment 401 (famous regiment?).

He died on 20.02.1944. He received the EK II after he died.

The letter to the family states that he was shot through the chest causing lung-damage and died in the hospital of his wounds despite timely medical assistance and an operation...

    GR 401 was part of 170 Infanterie-Division.

The soldier is buried in the war cemetery at Toila. Here is his entry in the Volksbund Database...

Hello, my Name is Lucas Kock. I am 18 years old and i am from Germany (Lower saxony, Leer-Loga).
Bernhard Feldmann was my great uncle. I compared the data and everything agrees and we have the same photo of Bernhard at Home.I was particulary concerned about his fate, because he was my grandmother‘s ( Ida Feldmann, she died in 2013) favorite brother. In the last few month i searched a lot for Bernhard and found out a lot. When i started my search i didn‘t even know where he was buried.I don‘t think my family ever got this letter from the doctor, because they never knew exactly how Bernhard died. The Letter was adressed to my great grandpa Martin Feldmann.
I stumbled upon this post yesterday and i was super happy. Is it possible, that you can send this documents from Bernhard to me? Maybe we could exchange cell phone numbers?I hope you get my message.

    Best Regards

    Lucas Kock

Ps.: If you need proof, i still have some pictures of Bernhard.

The original poster hasn't been on the forum since 2013. You might want to try and send him an email via his profile page.

I hope it all works out for you Lucas - what a great ending if it could be returned?
