Any idea who this high ranking nazi is?

    Being an SS-Standartenführer might make it easy to learn his identity if we could read his cuff title, but I can't make it out...

    Sorry, again the cuff tiltle might help.

    It would appear to be a funeral? Going by the ladies all in black and the WW1 Vets all lined up on parade. It will be wartime as the Heer Officer is decorated with the 1939 Spange to the EKII.

    On the back of the photo it also says königslutter am Elm and also maatsch whatever that means??? Jay

    Königslutter am Elm is a small town just east of Braunschweig.

    I can't guess who it may be either, but if it is a funeral as Ade suggests, and I tend
    to think it probably is, it must have been for a fairly prominent or important
    person in that town, being held in the street in public.


    Perhaps "Maatsch" is the Officer in question.................
