They look like reprint "cigarette" cards of the period that were
to be mounted in TR albums, if this helps.............

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply! The bloke selling them says they were in the russian captured archives apparently so reckons they're original but I'm not sure !!!!
Hi LondonJay, several years ago, I bought a group of photos and a couple of the pictures had similar markings as the ones you have pictured. The seller had the same story. The photos were recently discovered in KGB files and were used for intelligence purposes by the Russians during the war. What a farce. They are copies put on old paper to make them look old. Then they make some marks with a pencil and put a fake stamp on it. Highly advise not to fall for this new scheme of three card monte.
