Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Is this the backlight test !!
You need to use a BLACKLIGHT on it to see if the paper is modern which i suspect it is !!

My work has a UV light, I will ask If I can use it. The black light test seems a little... untrustworthy, especially with chemicals they could have used on the photos? Or did they generally use chemicals which is undetectable by the UV?

Hi guys, I havent forgotten about doing your photos! I have been working on a USAAF group portrait for a long time now in my free time, and just finished. So I will get started on everyones, starting with NDshooters SS pic.
Daniel, That Der Fuhrer Portrait belongs to a collector named Alex from Canada, so I cannot do it without his permission, Sorry. I Would be happy to do one of your photos tho!
Nova, Paul is correct about a Blacklight....a good tool to have if you want to collect period pics. The lines are going the wrong way for that type of paper marking, and needs to be looked at closer. I will post a period example of this type of paper in the thread suggested by Paul. I have only ever seen this "lines" markings on postcard sized paper, just to note.
Thanks Bill! I should be paying you for this service!
haha, I wish I could get payed for doing something I enjoy doing like this! Here is what I came up with......The SSm36 uniform in the original pic was kinda dark, so it was difficult to get the colors exactly correct... I also had to crop the photo, hope you dont mind.
