    it is nice to see them worn together, but he REALLY wanted to wear them together at any cost ))

    By the way, for the benefit of the non-German-speakers: The dedication is somewhat unusual, too. It is not dedicated as a memory to a comrade, family member or lover: Wachtmeister Moelze thanks Mr. Karl Stevens for the young pigeons he had given him.

    That's different! I hadn't got around to translating the back yet! Which word is 'pigeons'? I would guess the guy in the pic is Moelze, I wonder if the pigeons were live or oven ready!

    Agree, Moelze would be the man in the photograph. The fact that he gives his rank as Wachtmeister (instead of the generic Feldwebel) tells us that he served with the Luftwaffe's Flak artillery branch.
    As for the birdies: The word is Jungtauben (Jung = young, Taube = pigeon.
