That's an interesting post. Have you tried contacting the Canadian (National) Archives for information? I'm certainly not conversant with the archival establishment in Canada, but there must be a central repository. That would be a good place to start. Try googling it. Good luck to you, Dwight

I haven't yet contacted National Archives but none of the online archives were able to offer any information.

Internment Camp 132 was not too far from me. It was situated outside Medicine Hat, Alberta (which also hosts a huge Army Base (CFB Suffield) used by the British Army). Apparently it held about 12,000 prisoners and was the scene for two murders. This site has some info on it: Just-in Fall 2005 - Page 4

Hopefully this will help with your research.

I have noticed that the Christmas card says "Camp 132" but the photo of my Grandfather says "Camp 133". I suppose it could be possible that he was transferred at one point or another. My mother has very limited information other than he was an ambulance driver and was wounded before capture. If anyone has any ideas on how I could gather more information other than archives Canada on his military history I would be very grateful.

I figured it HAD to be 'Out West' with the photograph of the bison !

There is also a photo of a storefront with advertising
    in French.........!

Internment Camp 133 wasn't very far away. It was situated near Lethbridge in southern Alberta. You might want to contact the Glenbow Museum in Calgary for information.
